Ever wondered why nature etches its colors and form on something as simple as a stone?' Probably talented minds were something like that stone for the master who created us, and thus led way for a passion to recreate the same by methods such as stone carving, pottery, painting, chiseling, etching etc,., Thus was born a desire that for ages has intrigued and held the interest of art collectors and appreciators around the globe. The same passion drove us to open a unique ‘Articraft’ shop called "CHISELSTONE" in Udupi. The shop displays kitchenware, stone murals, terracotta face mask; wind chimes, customised figures etc, and also some other ‘Articrafts’. It also helps homemakers maker haven a more beautiful place to live in. The kitchenware includes beautifully designed cabinets with fixtures made of stainless steel & hardware accessories associated along with that, is imported from Germany. The wood used includes beech wood, rubber wood, teak, plywood, block board. Etc, wall cladding Tiles made of stainless steel are the USP of this interesting place. These accessories can be installed to modify an old kitchen as well as can be designed for a new house on order. Fittings and fixtures can also be installed for as many cabinets as one wish. Further in the store we have items made of terracotta which are a rage these days. It includes masks of different sizes and shapes along with wall hangings depicting various forms and designs. The customer’s choice in design is preferred which are priced according to the design and the requirement. Other attractions include etching on marble, sandstone, stone murals and limestone. Clay modellers of the undivided Udupi & Mangalore and its suburbs are trying to make Bang making clay and terracotta idols of virtually all figures. There's a carving for new designs and creativity. Therefore many superb creations from this place have found their ways too many art lovers’ homes in and around this place and even some have found their way out of the country. We are introducing some new fad in clay jewellery. Necklace, Earrings Bracelets all made of terracotta, hand made beautifully crafted to the taste of people who wants to be near to nature. Orders are taken for etching on mugs that can be personalised or used for official purposes such as souvenir. For bulk orders such as for graduation ceremonies and college logos, it can be etched along with the students’ signatures at a lower rate on bulk order paid for an average work of etching. Etching on black surface is cheaper than other colours. An interesting feature of this shop is its very fine paintings done on black granite, worked on by professionals and are thus priced higher. The owner says, "We undertake only orders for this work." The shop exhibits a show of talent and hard work, which is the result of many people working together behind the scene.
